Some recent pictures...

Here's a few pictures of the Gonster and the Monster that I've taken in the past few weeks:

The weather has been outstanding lately, so both the horses have been hyper- even Arragon! He actually trotted a few steps the other day! x) Here's Sterling being handsome!

Makes him kind of look like an Andalusian with that long mane...

Kate riding Arragon. Arragon actually offered a canter the other day! So we've done a little cantering since. It's great for him! He's getting a little stretch.

Sterling is so cute!

All ears. :)
Me cantering Arragon. This was like, the 4th time I've ever ridden this horse. He's really a great ride...I just don't like ground-working him.

Friday!

Friday was really pretty good with the horses! I worked Sterling, and he started some cantering circles, and also backed out to 22 feet...which is saying a lot for him! He never bit me either! That was a refresher...x)

Kate worked Arragon, and then rode a little. She did a little more cantering with him. He was being a it of a pill, but he still did well. She hopped off and then let me ride him. I've only ever ridden him like, three times before. He was pretty cool, actually. I don';t have a problem riding him...just ground working him. Anyway, I walked him for a few minutes, then trotted, and then he did some cantering for me. It was so nice to get on a horse that would actually hold a circle and bend and be consistent! It was really good! His canter is huge, because he;s so huge. It reminded of Buddy, a Quarter Horse gelding that used to be at the Wilson's place. Very rocking-horse motion.

Got some pictures...I'll see if I can get any up here...

Sterling did pretty well yesterday morning. He was really hyper agian, so I got some more cute pictures of him!

Arragon is loving this cool weather! He started cantering while Kate was on him yesterday, and he was loving it! Kate was able to move him into it again several times. She did short spurts, to stretch him out, since he hasn't moved like that in a long time. I'm going to try riding him tomorrow!

That Pony...

That darned pony....

Sterling.

Wednesday morning, he knew exactly what buttons to push. He had me so frustrated!! I had to stop playing with him. I made him do one good hind end disengagement, and called it quits. He was biting, pushing, bullying, and he even kicked out at me once, which I don't think I've ever seen him do. He got popped for that.

The worst part about him though, is when he moves that shoulder in to you. I've never seen a horse that could push you over with that shoulder more than him! He's an expert! And that's the part that drives me crazy! I've got to find some new things to do with him!

I worked him last Saturday too, and he was a little better. We did some really nice trotting circles and change of direction. But anytime I try to synchronize with him, he brings that shoulder in. I started using small cues with my carrot stick to push him off, but that didn't work. So I started smacking him with it, and that didn't work. That's when I realized I was getting frustrated with him. For now, I've stopped synchronizing.

Wish I could ride that pony...he'd be so much better on the ground if we could!

Pistol today...

Pistol was pretty laid back today. Wanted to move her feet, but wasn't throwing a fit. The big news:

She never kicked today. She wanted too, but she never did. Instead, she would lean her hind end into you. Which is still unacceptable, but at least she's not kicking! Progress!
